Only 8 weeks…

Only 8 weeks until the start of the second edition of Morocco-BikeAdventure. You have to realize this is a really hard journey. Be prepered for anything, when Kai Edel was checking the route in February 2020, he came into severe sandstorm in the Sahara desert.

Jebel Bani mountain range

The Morocco-BikeAdventure route offers landscapes you may never seen before. The piste route takes part of sections of the famous Paris-Dakar race and the road route follows nearby paved roads.

Donncha Cuttriss has a job to finish

Donncha Cuttriss has a job to finish. 2019 he struggled with his tubeless setup in the Sahara desert and had to scratch. This time he will start at Irun for the Iberica Traversa and continue with the Morocco-BikeAdventure at Tangier.

“Happy New Year! If interested in an incredible bikepacking adventure for 2021 I highly recommend the Morocco Bike Adventure on 9 October. Its a great adventure for anyone and also a serious test for any competitive racer who can hold it together physically and mentally for a few weeks, the time which it will take to finish the 3000 km of the optional long route. The route combines a diverse range of incredible scenery and surfaces including shifting desert sands, rough piste and gravel. Strategy, logistics, planning, adaptability and resilience will be needed as riders will be seriously isolated with few and meagre options for resupply in rural Morocco where on occasions you may only find a few packet of wafer biscuits and tins of tuna. Andi Buchs has put years of work into this race and has divised a route which is simply breathtaking. The best thing is that this event doesn’t attract too many entrants so participants can mostly enjoy the route and experience as if out there on her/his own. However, when you do meet another participant on the course its just beautiful.”

Morocco Bike-Adventure 2021 Entries open December 1st.

He is an Ultra endurance bicycle racer, living on Lesvos island, Greece. Steffen participated and won many ultra endurance bikepacking events including the inaugural 7400km NorthCape-Tarifa.com bike adventure – the longest road bikepacking event!

His solo sprint of 757 km, 12,512 vertical climbing into the finish line in Tarifa in 44 hours, is an impressive example of human mind and body working together for hours and days back to back making and incredible Victory. True grit!

We hope to see Steffen in Spain for Iberica-Traversa.com 2021.
